They’ve had almost identical point totals this year and last year lol

Ok and Debrincat has the better track record. Saying “by far” is extremely ridiculous . It’s close as hell

Yea, there’s absolutely nothing else to compare when points are super similar. Except maybe hits?

Also these trades are nutty.
When’s the last time a 1st AND a blue chip prospect were traded together? It’s rare
And Bratt+>DeBrincat. At least until we know more about both players and their negotiations for extensions

Last time a top-25 prospect was dealt with a 1st round pick?

Eichel 2021
ROR 2018
Ryan 2013
Nash 2012
Burns 2011
Demitra 2006
Lindros 1992

Three wingers. No pending RFAs. No big QOs.

For top-50 prospect with 1st, add deals like....

Fiala 2022
Coleman 2020
Pominville 2013
Staal 2012
Penner 2011

(Same is true for Bratt too, if we had to sell him, the return will leave a lot of NJ fans disappointed)

Similar stats, similar size, similar age, likely similar contracts coming. Gotta be a wash on paper.

That’s when you start seeing this pending RFAs and contract issues pop up.

It’s just funny some ppl think Ottawa is gonna trade Debrincat this deadline for a late 1st and throw in prospects or for older vets that no one would pay big for. But yeah I agree those 2 are super close

I prefer Bratt but it's def not a big gap between the two right now.

you can look at his teammates production with vs without shows weather they are carying their line or benefiting from it.

I would argue with Holtz struggles he is no longer a consensus top 25 guy. but i could be wrong.

Oh you are correct. I was just being sarcastic there, since the two of us bring up underlyings quite a bit on here, and are written off 😅

I wouldn’t really say he’s struggled enough to no longer be one of the best shooting prospects drafted in years. He kills it in the NHL and just isn’t being given the correct linemates in the NHL to produce with. It’s mostly a deployment thing.

Trade him for young defensive RD with term/control, methinks

OTT has plenty of offense to absorb such a move

Maybe so. He has appeared mostly in top-20 on recent lists.

He is on the roster to be 13th forward (and PP shooter)...his 5v5 ice time has been very limited.

Points-per-60 in rookie season (age 20)

Meier 0.85
Holtz 0.84
