This would be the worst disaster imaginable...and they would still miss the playoffs.

MTL needs to give up more than that for the best defenseman in the league. The conversation starts with Barron, 2023 1st and Mesar.

I agree with you about needs to be a better package by far, but best defenceman in the league is a stretch. He doesn't play defence well and gets caught up ice often.

He's a minus -5 on a bad team. His defensive game has improved quite a lot since coming to SJ and has been on the top PK Unit until this year and SJ PK has been top 3 last few years.

Karlsson can carry a team on his back and even at 32 is blowing by 23 year olds with ease. He's the best defenseman in the world right now, easily.

The 3 positions that need to be fixed are G, C and RHD.

You didn't adress the first two and you spent 17M AAV on RHD while making the worst PK in the league even worst.

All that while loosing 4 prospects, 2x1st and another top 50 pick on a very deep draft.

Terrible asset management for flashy Dmen.

Oh and they are 9 points out of the playoffs.

what is the prob with these C's when they have these wingers? let's assume they stay healthy for a run

netminders are fine if the D wasn't bad

He’s going to get us at least a 2023 1st while being 50% retained

do the ducks have more trades with retention that would be worth it?

btw, what's the prob this year? they let Steel and Milano leave for peanuts and the O collapsed.
