ROR would be great fit on Leafs imo; but I would not give up both Holmberg & Niemela - either + 1st is highest I’d go

Not a fan of your asks on this one, I'm afraid. We already have too many small LDs that are + skaters, why go get a small LD who isn't? Plus, Neimela has regressed a lot and I can;t see them trading Holmberg. Both those B's prospects are thoroughly meh (and again minus skaters). The last trade, overgenerous, even with the 1st coming back. I'd prefer to extend Barby and Acciari, if not also Mikko. Sorry, man.

I do think we will resign Barbashev but I think that is it. I feel like the lines are going to shake out Buch/Thomas/Kyrou**Barb/Schenn/Saad Eventually a line of Neighbors/Bolduc/Snugg. I think taking other teams "B" prospects makes it easier for them to give us 1st round picks which is the main attraction to selling everything at the deadline.

Overgenerous? Nah. The only way EDM should be giving up a 1st is if it gets a highly competent and proven top-4 LD. Mikkola isn't that. Given the particular need at LD and the assets available, the 1st simply should not be used on a "bulk buy". I'd be willing to consider a deal centered around Jesse and the '23 2nd for Barbashev and Acciari.

I was speaking from a Blues perspective when I said overgenerous, that's literally three of our consistently solid AND cheapest players of the season so far, AND our three biggest hitters (both volume and quality). Despite the open angst of many Blues fans, this team will make the playoffs and that is just too much torn out at once. I certainly won't argue that the price is too steep for Edmonton, but I also don't know how many more playoffs they want to waste before McD goes UFA. The Oilers are desperate to win one, the Blues are not.

Bolduc almost certainly will not play C in the NHL. Just FYI. And honestly, I'd rather have A prospects that fit and 2nd rounders than B prospects that don't fit and 1st rounders.

Holmberg is a non-starter considering he has been a beast for us this season and is a beast defensively

Boston doesn't have the cap space for this, nor the need for Tarasenko
