After watching Finland's two games I can only hope they can keep up this positive trajectory. They were ghastly against Switzerland, and decent against Slovakia. They had their moments that looked really promising (especially the start to the game), and then they regressed right back into being total sh*t the next moment. It feels like it's all about confidence and momentum with this bunch...very unpredictable.

Next game is against Latvia iirc, and I gotta admit I've never been more scared to watch Finland face them as I am now, cuz Latvia has actually looked good this time out. They gave USA run for their money, and are also giving a proper challenge to Switzerland now...you know, the team that just beat us...

That being said, I'm relatively confident that if the team can keep learning from their mistakes and become better after each game, I think we can haul those much needed points home. The most important thing is to keep up the upward, positive trajectory, at least result wise.

If we can manage that, maybe Finland's gonna be the Argentina of this tournament. That's something I'm certainly wishing for lol.

After a slow start against the Swiss Kapanen did have a bounceback game against Slovakia. One of the better players on the ice for the Finnish team. Good offensive threat and a finisher, evidently shown by the nice goal he scored in the latest game.

Just got off the phone with his mom.
She said he forgot to pack his nightlight and is having a very hard time sleeping because of it.

Hard to say. It's still early days. Given that his strengths are in the offensive game, I dunno if he's a fit for the bottom-6, but by the same token I dunno if he's ever good enough to reach the top-6 role in NHL. Maybe he can become somewhat similar guy that is Alex Kerfoot, but like mentioned, it's still early days.

Latvia VS Switzeland was a pretty good game. People underate Latvia they not be great on paper but they play hard and will play a close Game.

On a Flyers note:
Brian Zanetti looked pretty good from the little I saw, noticably better than last year Solid skater with some reach at 6'3.

The Slovak was clearly no longer in possession of the puck and the American had ample time to cancel out but decided to deal a dangerous hit anyways.
I agree with the call.

At least they are consistent. You know what's a major and what isn't in this tournament. I can agree the Canadian penalty was a good call if we're going to measure it off of those kind of hits.

We were in it for the entire game until the 5 minute major. Then we couldn't buy a save. Once the new goalie came in, we outplayed them, just couldn't finish.
