They aren't trading Allan but all those other pieces Montreal would probably want to move. The only one there with value is Edmundson and from what I've seen, his play hasn't been great this year.

Not sure if Boqvist has more value than this. A mid to late 1st is probably fair. But I’m sure an early 2nd and a decent prospect with potential could be of interest. I don’t think this offer is too far. Kapanen has some potential but could be replaced with someone a bit better possibly

At the draft I wouldn’t be too upset at this return. Unless he pops off and has a great second half to the season where he’s healthy.

There’s just no reason to downgrade prospects. Jackets need proven defenseman. If Montreal gets a late first at the deadline I would consider that. After seeing what Romanov and lundkvist got I would want a late first minimum

I don’t think Columbus need Dman tbh. They have tons of them especially prospects

hopefully we draft Sandin-Pellikka, Dragecevic or Reinbacher instead but a move like this wouldnt surprise me after the Dach trade last draft, Hughes/Gorton have always said they like prospects/young players over picks

It's either picks or established players that can help the team win starting next year for the Jackets imo. They already have too many players in the 19-23 bracket that are currently developing so jamming another one in there at the cost of a player who is actually playing in the NHL makes no sense.

I agree with you,I think maybe going as high as Mailoux on the list of prospect rankings in the link below would be acceptable with the 2nd. No one above Mailloux should be moved IMO.

Idk why Columbus would want a RD back with Jiricek, Peeke, Ceulemans, Bjork, Blakenburg and Gudbranson (unmoveable)

I love all those 3 players but not sure any of them fall out of the 1st round .

Kind of makes sense to me only if we've decided Boqvist isn't going to work out as part of our core. In such a case, I could see this working for Columbus. But otherwise...

no i know we would grab them with FLA pick and keep 2nd rd pick as theres a good chance a forward will "fall" to around 37 or draft one of the highly rated goalies because its an org. weakness forsure

    If I’m Montreal , I go :

    1) centre (MTL pick) (5-8 range) (Dvorsky , Yager, Smith)
    2) RD (Florida pick) (8-15 range) (Dragi , Pellikka or Reinbacher)
    3) Goalie (early 2nd late 1st move up) (Hrabal or Bjarnason)
