Minny fans, is this even close? COMMENT

Description
I've seen some really bad offer for Dumba. I know Minny are in a tough spot, but still need to give them something decent. Is this anywhere close? I think Carrick can be a decent D with the right guy. And then you get two forwards ( one expansion exempt) and a 1st (you have no 1st or 2nd this year and no 2nd next year, so Fletcher may want another high pick).

I would love to bring back either Polak or Hunwick, probably Polak because I love the mean streak he adds to the D-line. I would also give Dermott a long look at camp to see if he can be the 6th guy.

I was debating whether or not to put in Bracco instead of Leivo, but decided against it.

Think it's a fair deal. But if the Leafs want to build up their RHD, why trade Carrick? Go with Zaitsev, Dumba, and Carrick. Doubtful if Polak is back this year if at all.

I agree, I'd probably do that deal too. Carrick makes the trade a lot easier for us to do since it gives us another RD option for the 3rd pair. That way our RD depth isn't Spurgeon, Folin, Prosser. It gives you a RD for your top 4 and backfills the spot Dumba leaves on our team. I think both teams benefit in the end.

I also like the addition of Soshnikov. One of the concerns we have about Kaprizov coming over is needing a Russian on the roster to help smooth his transition. Between Soshnikov and Sokolov, Kaprizov should feel pretty comfortable in the organization.

From an outside perspective I almost think that you could take out Leivo and Soshnikov and put in Bracco.

First, I would rather have Bracco than Soshnikov and Leivo. Leafs are going to need guys like Bracco in a year or two who can come in on entry level deals and play a somewhat important role (hopefully).
Second, I would love to give them Marincin instead, but I assume Minny needs a D good enough to fill the spot from Dumba somewhat.

We would definitely turn that down. Even if we lost Scandella to Vegas, we would have Suter, Brodin, Olofsson, and Reilly as NHL ready LD. Marincin would at best be 4th on the depth chart in my opinion. Carrick is a big part of why I think this would work.

Quantity doesn't equal quality. Seems like a bunch of players fighting for a roster spot (in Minnesota) and a mid 1st round pick in a (relatively) weak draft. Sure there will probably be a player(s) in the mid to late 1st round but nothing to help Minnesota win now. There will be much better offers available for Dumba, but in reality Minnesota would like to trade Brodin much more than Dumba. I wouldn't expect Dumba anywhere else than Minnesota next year unless a deal blows them away.

Lol no one wants Marincin , i would not allow him to cut my grass never mind give up a player of value for him

The Dumba for 3 players of the 4th link and 3 pairs, and 1 round of a very weak draft. Thanks for the suggestion, but I will not say a second without hesitation NO NO NO.
