Tarasenko is better than Beauvillier, but he might not even hit 20 goals this season. That’s a steep price to pay, this isn’t prime Tarasenko

Probably a fair deal for Henrique, but I think Anaheim will be looking to ship him out with retention for a haul of futures.

It’s a deal that doesn’t make much sense for either side imo.

Really the only team who should want bailey is a team trying to stay above the cap floor without wasting money on a big name free agent who isn’t worth it next off season. At the end of the day he’s still good for half a point per game even if his metrics r poor.

Then again he was a second half player in his prime, so maybe the fact that he’s heating up now shouldn’t shock anyone. Idk tbh.

I have no clue what makes you think he won't even hit 20 goals this season, he's already at 10 less than halfway through the season. Feel like injury is the only thing that would get in the way and that's true of any player.

It's not prime Tarasenko, but it's still "top line" or "top six" Tarasenko. A first round pick and a cap-back mediocre forward return is probably an underpay for a player that would instantly be the third leading scorer on that team. Whether the Islanders are willing to pay for a top six rental forward in a year where they're straddling the wild card line is their business- I probably wouldn't- but that doesn't mean Tarasenko isn't worth that.

He’s on pace for 24 , but his quality of shots has gone down as well as quantity, wouldn’t be surprised to see him finish with 18 or 19 goals.

Tarasenko isn’t better than Lee, Nelson, or Barzal. Parise even has more goals than Tarasenko.

At best Tarasenko is a mediocre 2nd line winger

I don't see that at all. For just a 3rd in 24 and no real gains on the cap or opening up a roster spot the Ducks would keep Henrique.

I don't think he is better than those three players. Those three players are extremely good. Anders Lee is one of my favorite players in the league. Tarasenko's obviously better than Parise, congrats to 3 million year old Zach Parise for scoring one more goal I guess.

And look I'm never going to be a guy who bashes on analytics around here but if we're throwing down a player card and dropping the mic can you do me a favor and type "Anthony Beauvillier" in there and tell me what EH's cards say about the player the Blues have to have on their roster next year if this trade was accepted? You want to drop down to a second or next year's 1st or whatever and I don't really have a problem. But you're unloading a player who has been worse for longer and who has term in this trade. This is not steep for the Islanders, that's a huge boon for them that they're basically getting for free.

This is definitely steep for the isles, the trade doesn’t move the needle - how is trading a premium asset for a mediocre player make sense. That’s not even the market right now, the market for wingers is awful.

Parise has been significantly better than Tarasenko this season. 2* more goals and a much better play driving impact

I didn't say it made sense as a deal, I said the value is probably about right. Hence why I said I think Anaheim looks to ship off Henrique for futures, not as part of a hockey trade.

The value is terrible. A significantly worse player with the same term and cap hit (nearly) for a 24 3rd.
