Fortunately, Klingberg isn't waiving for Winnipeg and the Jets won't be subtracting roster players like Gustafsson or giving away roster players like Schmidt for nothing.

Garland is a good target, but has done nothing this year to be worth 3 assets, including a young player like Gustafsson.

Genuine question, why do you want Klingberg? He’s been a consistent defensive liability the last few years and he probably wouldn’t waive for Winnipeg anyways. We already have a defensive liability in Pionk anyways.

I think the Canucks would go for that package, but what about Salomonnson and a 2023 3rd?

Big no thank you on adding Schmidt at $6 mil for 2 more years. He definitely is not the piece that gets them from last place team to anywhere respectable. Team would be better off just struggling through those 2 years while they wait for Svozil, Mateychuk, Holm, Richard, Makarov or Hreschuk to mature while using that cap space to get some actual assets.

Yeah, no. In the current cap situation, you pay for a cap dump, and for six million you pay handsomely. Columbus declines.

You can keep your two AHL'ers in Gustafsson and Gawanke. Van essentially taded the 9th pick for Garland - not saying that was a good trade but I'm not sure they'd give him away now for a second.
