I think the value for Couture is more than fair, I just don't think the Caps would do that given how well Strome has played, I'm sure they'd rather simply extend him

I was thinking he would replace backstrom. Kuznetsov, couture and Strome down the middle would be good

Why wouldn’t they do this? They get a player who is younger and produces more for half the cost

Barbanov is not a top 6 winger, he’s a mediocre 3rd liner

Isles don’t need the cap space

Barabanov has 6 more points than Bailey this year with a career PPG of .54 vs Bailey's career PPG of .55. He is hardly a better player, and would be just another mid-6 player that the Isles do not need. Barabanov would get maybe a 2nd right now, more likely has the value of a 3rd round pick. The Isles are far better off buying out Bailey in the offseason rather then trading him.

if they want to improve their offense cap savings will be vital! and Barabanov is not Mediocre! since joint the sharks he’s been on a .63 ppg rate and makes 2.5 mil. he is a solid middle 6 wing and does a lot of little things that lead to scoring chances.

Couture is still a solid top 6 C but if i was Washington i would consider but probably pass. or counter with a little less value. but with washington going all in to try and get Ovechkin to pass the great one and try and win another cup this might not be a bad idea.

The Isles are not trading a 1st to dump Bailey and there is no reason for the Isles to acquire a Mid-6 forward when they are a team of Mid-6 forwards. When healthy he would not replace Lee, Beau, Wahlstrom, Palmeri, Parise or even Bailey. The Isles are either looking for a legit top line winger or will go with the current group of forwards.

really! because last year couture struggled and this year playing with him and a depth W on the the other side is having a solid rebound year! have to think Barbi has something to do with that! coutures numbers this year without him on his wing are much worse than with him on it. whatever keep Bailey Barbi is a better player and i would rather him over the 1st and bailey to be totally fair.

A team that needs to rebuild would rather have a mediocre 3rd liner over a cap dump and a 1st. Sure thing

Mediocre third liners don’t score at a 60 point pace, you’re ignorant

I think everyone is available. He’s having a good bounce back year, he just needs to play with other good players. I would think it depends if there is retention in his deal. He almost makes $5 mil aav with next year on the deal too

Who’s at a 60 pt pace? it sure isn’t Barabanov. He has 4 goals in 32 games. That is not top 6 caliber.

sounds like you want him but are trying to belittle him to get him on the cheap. and since when is a guy on pace for 60 points a mediocre 3rd liner? your in a fantasy world budddy

actually on pace for 50 not 60, but he isn’t a goal scorer he’s a set up guy! his skill is winning puck battles along the boards sick handeling and dishing it to teammates. 10-15 goals a season his what i would expect to go along with 35-45 assists.
he and each line should have a sniper a 2 way guy and a set up guy. it makes for a nice balance.

probably available but his value i’m not sure of, hard to know if his production lately is due to his line or him right now.

Fine then don’t. Nobody wants baileys crusty ass at $5.5 mil, y’all can keep him. Barabanov will be the same player for half the price but that’s fine, we will send him elsewhere.

barabanov isn't like, great? obviously no one wants bailey, but his deal is 5mil and with one year left it's not hard to buy him out and save about the amount of cap they would here and they keep the pick

You’re right , no one wants baileys 5* mill . You like to embellish man, 5.5 mill, 60 pts lol.

Barabanov will be the same player for half the price but what you’re not getting is the isles have like 15 mill in deadline cap space …

Look beyond Barabanov numbers and these metrics.
keep it simple last year he played with Hertl and Meier last year and both had solid jumps in production from they year before, now with those two you could argue he got lucky. but this year he was put on a line with Courure and Nieto, Couture is a short step down from a hertl and Nieto is a gigantic step down from Meier, and Barabanov even with that is still on pace for a career year and both Nieto and Couture are having much improved seasons over their previous years. can this be coincidence or could it be that Barbi helps make his linemates better? and if you don’t believe me go back and do some research.
