If the Sabres are in the playoff spot at the deadline then maybe but potential lottery teams should not be trading their firsts away this year.

They don't need it and use it to address their needs anyway

Is there protection on that 1st, like the 2nd trade. Don't think we need the 1st one.

Can do top 10 protected, but it shouldn't matter

Maybe not, but always should just in case. Unless it's McDavid

Fabbro for Mittelstadt is probably a fair swap. Doubt Nashville has any interest in moving Jeannot though

Sure, I think that's why Shibbal added the first. Our pick is probably somewhere between 8 and 15, that's a very nice piece in this draft. Jeannot would provide a skill set and dynamic that doesn't exist in the organization.

Quick edit- honestly jeannots numbers are down this year, I think Nashville almost has to take this.

I don't agree with that. If anything his numbers being down this year make negotiating his next deal better. Lock him up on the Paul deal and he will likely no nce back

Neither trade worth it in the slightest.

McCabe, already tried him, no thank you.

Fabbro is struggling badly and getting benched in Nashville
Jeannot while physical has played far beneath what he did last year and will need a huge contract. I’d rather use my 1st for a high potential player than waste it on what seems to be a 1 hit wonder

Fabbro benched? Did I miss something?

Playing with Lauzon does him no favors, but when paired with Ekholm, Fabbro looked like a completely different player.

"Already tried him, no thank you." What??? He'd be perfect for this team. IMO, they really need veteran depth on the back end who can play physical and block shots. McCabe was great here, the situation when he was due a contract was just terrible. I would love to have him back.

He was great for stints here, he averaged 60 games a year due to injury; would give us 20 good, 20 bad and 20 mediocre games a year.

Solid players looked like AHLers on those teams, but fair enough on the injury front.
