add another 1st for 7 years of salary retention on a team with cap issues and key UFA and RFA's coming up in the next 2 years.

Not sure how the rules work on that though, don't think I've ever seen retention on a current contract with a future contract already in place.

The retention is only for his current expiring deal. If it was for 7 years it would cost way more than just an extra 1st.

Miller is a winger, he is awful defensively, he is signed until hes 38, and the recent stuff on ice is showing that the rumours of him being an awful team mate might actually be true.

Miller is a no fly zone IMO, hes locker room cancer at this point

Avs and virtually all team don't want his 8m contract next season (s). Miller stays a very unhappy Canucks for a very long time.
