TBL does a great job of finding players in the later rounds, Perbix (169) but a pretty brutal job with their 1st’s, Foote (14th).

This deal probably spells the end of Cal’s career in TBL

Thank god. Foote is an immobile muffin

Tampa with another great deal. Perbix has been a very pleasant surprise this year, and getting him for this little over the course of 2 seasons is fantastic

Tampa's record in the first round is HOF or OOOF

Solid contract for a decent 3rd pairing defender. They need contracts like these with all of their core being signed to massive contracts.

Top pairing*

Okay not actually, but I think he will eventually fill the void Rutta left next to Hedman on a full-time basis.

I think you’ve got a gem in Niko Huuhtanen (#224) too

His tournament left me feeling slightly underwhelmed. He had his moments, but he still needs work.

Still not bad for last pick of the draft.

Ya, I don’t hold too much stock in the WJC. Adam Fantilli hasn’t looked good either. It’s a tough ask for players to come in and produce in such a short tournament.

Huuhtanen’s 16 points in 24 games with Jukurit is very impressive, especially as a rookie.

I mean he's playing 15 minutes a night which is extremely low for a defender. He might eventually play there, but Tampa won't be a contender if he does.

That's on par with what Rutta played a night for us

Same as Colton. Came out of nowhere (not quite nowhere, but you get what I mean), has a good season, and get the same contract. He could end up being Hedman or Sergachev's partner in the playoffs and the future

Tampa tax discounts be fun

On another team probs 1.8-2mill.

Anyways good signing but man it makes extending Myers look bad. Should have honestly used the buyout window

If they bought him out they would have got cap back

And sure in 2023 a 666k cap hit but hey better than 1.45mill rn

Seemed a bit rushed
