it's just really funny to me that a guy who has one goal and point less than Kerfoot, while getting cherry offensive zone starts to kerfoots massive defensive starts is apparently worth so much more than he is.
One guy is a cap dump in 20 posts a day while the other demands 1sts and prospects and roster players.

Stop it, the first overall pick needs time to develop and be given opportunities to succeed outside of getting to have a face off in the other teams end more than his own. Dahlia, Hischier, Hughes are all really coming into their own now and it’s just a matter of time before Laf will as well in my opinion. I know your Leafs bias is unmatched on here, but there is no way you think Kerfoot has more value than Laf

No you stop it. He's been awful and isnt worth half of what people here say. Hischer was a 50 point guy out of the gate,and hughes was much better much faster too.
Laf is in his 3rd year, he has shown minimal growth despite soft zone starts and lots of time with elite linemates.
As far as leafs bias, where am i showing bias here hoss? I literally just compared the fact that despite being near identical in production, one guy doing it in defensive minutes is a cap dump and one is worth the moon apparently. Tell me where the bias is, because that's indisputable.

As a Leafs fan, Laf is worth AT LEAST 2 firsts/ 1 pick and 1 high end prospect (only one the Leafs have is Knies) plus some smaller assets. He is still young and the Rangers have really botched his development, but I think he will be a star in this league and he is worth a lot.

two players with identical counting stats shouldnt have a difference in value of "cap dump who sucks" to "we demand your 1st, a good prospect and a decent roster player", especially when the 1st guy is significantly better at the rest of the game outside of scoring.

Except there is the thing with one of them beeing a young player with a perceived high ceiling, and who's an RFA at the end of his deal.
And the other player beeing a pending ufa who's soon to be thirty with no perceived higher ceiling in the future than where he is currently at.

Again, it's about the gap in value, laf is too high and kerfoot too low. That doesnt mean they are the same value or anything, it's just an observation.

Lafrenière is 21 and hasnt shown any type of elite level talent. When you draft a "generational" talent a #1 overall... you should need 3 years for him to develop. BUT IF YOU DID he certainly wouldnt look like a 30-35p 3rd liner.at some point you stop over paying for potential. Oilers should ask for kills ransom for Puljujarvi....i mean FFS he was the 4th overall pick

4th overall pick from 6 years ago is a lot different than 1st overall pick from 2 years ago. Kirby Dach got an early first round pick and he was the 3rd overall in the same draft. I would imagine Laf gets a similar deal
