Saw someone say John Tavares is a top 10 centre in the league and it got me thinking. Who are the top 15 Centres in the league right now. Guys like Eichel and Matthews I feel are going to be amazing but I wouldn't say top 15 yet.

In no particular order

Crosby
McDavid
Stamkos
Getzlaf
Kopitar
Pavelski
Backstrom
Giroux
Tavares
Monahan
Barkov
Malkin
Seguin
Bergy
Toews

Barkov and Monahan certainly aren't better than Matthews and Eichel

Barkov is just off that Toews Bergy Selke esc centre tier. He just doesn't get the ratings. Kinda the opposite as with Matthews who is a little over hyped. Eichel can have Monahan spot

Granlund isn't better than Seguin, plus he doesn't even play center anymore.

I dunno man. I just don't think Matthews is good enough yet. Plus Kopitar is certainly better than half your list.

Kopitar is rapidly declining, I went with a lot of new generation centers, who's style of play accommodates with today's NHL.

Rapidly declining after a bad year is kinda harsh. Also he didn't have an off-season with all the international stuff he played in. Same reason Tampa we're gutted this year.

I didn't know he played wing, sorry. Also, about the Seguin-Granlund thing i said it's probably way off, it was just a quick list.

He had a bad season for him, though he still should have won the Selke and he brings lots of leadership to the kings. it isn't all about points.

The leadership aspect is a reflection of his captaincy not his skills as a centre. You don't necessarily have to be a strong leader to be a good centre.

I know, but if he's one of the best all-round players in the game that's pretty good.

I'm not saying Kopitar is bad, but he's not as good as the other centers I chose. Kopitar was a tough cut for me.

I feel like Kopitar has gotta have another off season to be bumped out. Same as Matthews needs a good sophomore year to crack the top tier.
