Why would the Leafs trade Brodie, and why would the Canucks want Brodie?

Why wouldn't Vancouver want Brodie, he's a high end defensive RD

I think the point you’re all making is “why on earth would either side do this trade?”

Because the Canucks are looking for younger players. Brodie is great but doesn’t make sense for the Canucks in their current situation

Well, Schenn is a great player, same with Horvat, and to be fair, there is Robertson and a 1st involved in this, so I think this deal is plausible but needs to be altered with respect to Brodie.

Can see either team making this trade. The Leafs aren't going to trade Brodie and the Canucks wouldn't want him, the rest of the package isn't enough for Horvat, and Gaudette will never be a Canuck again.

Why do folks even make posts like this? Do you think Toronto area boy Brodie who is playing on a good team waives his NTC for the Canucks.
Not saying the Canucks do there trade, but geez think.

And is still a high end defensively. He's worth 5 million without a doubt.

Well the Canucks think they are closer than they are so this would give Hughes an actual terrific partner. He's never had one of those.

Unless they sell off they would be loving this trade.

Luke Schenn has been good enough however can't help both Hughes and save OEL at the same time so...

Chris Tanev was a terrific partner. Brodie still doesn't fit the age group

Brodie is light-years better than Schenn though he would make Hughes so much better
