That doesn’t even cover the 5 years of retention your asking for on Strome

Robertson and a 3rd doesn’t cover trading for a guy Verbeek just gave a 5 year contract to not the retention you’re asking for here

Major miss

As a practical matter, a GM can't sign a guy to a long-term deal and then trade him before the halfway mark of the first season.

Joey Anderson hasn't shown that he's an NHL player yet, and Alex Kerfoot is a rental, so neither one is of much use to the Blackhawks; I don't think that a future second and an even more future fourth gets Connor Murphy.

Hawks decline. That offer doesn't come close to getting Murphy.

We had to beat Toronto fans over the head to stop with the Vatrano with retention trades, so the answer is to go after the guy we signed to a longer deal on the same day, and still ask for retention? Your hand to god, you think that's even remotely a fair deal? We wouldn't accept that deal for an unretained Strome, let alone occupying a retention slot for 5 years.

The only multi year players Anaheim might retain on is Henrique or Silfverberg, but its going to cost an arm and a leg (at least for Rico, Silf is probably just going to finish out his contract here)

Cue one up for Twitter worst ACGM.

Kuraly probably isn't for sale, what with his being a center, defensively responsible, and a hometown kid and community advocate - all things currently lacking in the Jackets otherwise.
