All I see in this offer is the 1st.
An aging cap dump.
A prospect on the IR.
A meh later pick.

NYI needs a top 6 scoring winger so that makes this less of a reality. The offer makes it an easy no. To be serious there needs to be meat in any offer. Idc about any fanbases claim of a rental that’s the easy road & irrelevant. That alone means LL & any other GM won’t even bother making an offer like this.
Dutchies liked this.

I’m not so sure. Every GM who picks up the phone to Vancouver is gonna be looking for pennies on the dollar. The fact Horvat is going to be a rental is totally relevant. You wouldn‘t need to trade him if he wasn‘t…

If you want some more meat with your potatoes then a sign and trade would be the way to go. Otherwise you got a bunch of GM‘s competing against one another to get see who can get the best low-ball offer accepted.

He’s currently a rental as it sits & the narrative many use to suit their post. A lowball offer will never be accepted & a waste of time. At worst the Canucks are forced to resign him & move on to the offseason & figure out the roster ‘& the cap.

Van would definitely want more. Even as a rental. This offer is very lackluster. Bailey can offer a 50% retained trade deadline maybe pull a 3rd? a first that likely is in the mid 20's if they make the playoffs. And 2 average assets.

You're probably an additional second, or removing the prospect and adding 2 seconds in value from this going anywhere.

Essentially it's one 1st, and three 3rds. That's terrible.
