Chicago won't sign him it cuts their cap space in half and that means less retention on players that will bring in a much better return. That applies to several other teams as well. I think Carolina is the team to worry about they have the space and like making bold moves. Plus if doesn't workout they just send him through waivers again and go right back to where they were before.

i mean like a team like Seattle or the Sens can claim him and use him to push for the playoffs.... i wasnt referring to teams flipping him. sorry wasnt clear

SEA has a lot of wingers but he’d be sick out there. OTT has to look next year in using money for D, unless they flip Cat for a stud defenseman.

That Blues trade
is dreadful for the Leafs. Barbashov isn't better than Kerfoot, and Mikkola certainly isn't better than Holl (and maybe not Timmins).
Leafs have no interest in signing Barbashov and spend their cap resigning Kampf and Holmberg
