You're calling that a sideways move? With a straight face?

Canes don’t even consider. Not moving KK for someone who gets played on the 3rd pairing.

Now ask yourself if you were the GM of Carolina or Buffalo, would you really consider this? They would be laughing before you even finished

Oof, Dutchies, friend. The Canes do not want to give up Raanta, likely they will re-sign him to pair with Kochetkov, letting the more expensive Andersen find a new home in the off season. Every time I check up on the Canes Raanta seems to be getting back to back shutouts (I checked up on the Canes once smile )

That's fair enough. Wasn't sure on CAR feelings on Andersen after last year, and then this years injury problems. I just figured Kocketkov would take over the starters net next year, and back ups are fairly easy to find. Also forgot Andersen's contract expired after this year....thought he had 1 more year

Ah, that's definitely fair then. Yep, Andersen up too. I believe you're right, that Kochetkov could earn starting minutes, but I also think the trend the Canes would follow is that of having a solid 1B behind him, especially as Kochetkov hasn't had years of NHL play to back up his credentials yet. I think Raanta would re-sign with the Hurricanes at something like 2.5 per year, I don't see him testing the market to try and make a ton of money at this stage of his career, as opposed to staying with a perennial contender. Could be wrong though..
