5C Isles

Created by: Niiko90
Team: 2023-24 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 3, 2023
Published: Jan. 3, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Increased the cap +1mil

I like the idea of 5 centres in this line up. It gives the option to go with a bonafide top line. Meier-Barzal-Nelson, where we’d actually have a chance of winning a face off with Nelson unlike Barzal.
Also means you can bump Räty to centre Lee and Palmieri occasionally.

Resign parise and Fasching for the minimum.

Keep Martin and Clutter around for experience/injury cover. Probably needs another speedy wing option to round out the forward group. Then you always have the option of rotating Räty, Holmstrom out.

Nedjelkovic or similar as cheap back up for Sorokin
Motte to play on the 4th line and is a great PKer

Sign Radko or similar to replace Mayfield on the bottom pair
Wotherspoon/Aho fighting it out for the other position on the bottom pair

This trade would be completed before trade deadline 22/23. I’d offer Wahlstom or Holmstrom whoever the Sharks prefe. Just for the sake of this squad I’ve sent Wahlstom so the Islanders retain a lower cap hit.

I don't mind trading Mayfield for a 1st and getting Gudas as the 3rd pairing Defensive "Dman".
I just think, that's too much for Meier. I rather take my changes signing him in the offseason

I like it. If Raty does get moved to the wing I think he might get 2nd line minutes.

I like it but as of now I would play Raty on the wing instead of Cizikas because I think Raty is very mature with his game but Cizikas has been in the league a lot longer and is a good faceoff guy. Alsoif Raty does get moved to the wing I think he might get 2nd line minutes.

Raty is a natural center, they aren’t moving him to wing

You’re right, sandwiched between Martin and Johnson isn’t going to be ideal for anyone as we’ve bared witness to the last couple of outings.

We’d still have a 1st round pick we flipped for mayfield. My thinking behind it is, if we pay the higher price to San Jose for a sign and trade,we don’t have to battle for his signature in the summer and inevitably watch him sign somewhere else. There is no way we can simply run it back again next season.

Thanks for the feedback.

Bolduc would never sign that for 5yrs. I highly doubt either Nedeljkovic or Gudas would agree upon those offers. Way to much for Meier based on comparable trades.

Chill Winston.
Bolduc, I just did that so he appeared back on the roster.
The other 2 dudes, sure maybe not those guys specifically but you get the premise for an affordable back up goalie and bottom pair dman.
Your opinion. But we get the best piece in the trade.

”Chill Winston” lol, why even publish an ACGM on here if you don’t want people’s opinions?
