I don't regret signing Chiarot. He just needs to not play with Seider. They have no chemistry.

Engvall is pretty solid for 2.25, id love him to have a bit more grit in his game but he's rounded into form the last 10 games playing with Kerfoot and Kampf

For me though, buyers remorse here has to be between JT miller and Campbell. Miller just seems like an awful team guy as good of a player as he is i think his new contract is almost untradeable. I hope Campbell turns it around but makes Dubas look like a genius for not signing him to that deal.

I'm still waiting for him to throw a hit lol. Also, if he could stop curling back everytime he gets the puck, that would be great. Not a bad player but I think they would have prefered to spend that money elsewhere

I agree! I think the worst calendar year for a team goes to Vancouver. They could have gotten so much back for Boeser and Miller at last years trade deadline. Now they are going to have to trade Horvat who I don't think you should let go because of those guys. Now they have hitched their wagon to Miller and he isn't pulling them the right way by all accounts

Worst contract signed: For the situation, Campbell
First to get bought out or traded: Kapanen, feels like a guy who gets swapped for other depth at the deadline
Surprised me the most: Boeser
Justifying time: Kase is a good player, and Carolina didn't overpay for him, his injury history is awful. I don't blame any party for that, just mother nature. As for a harder player to justify (Gudbranson), I'll play devils advocate, I think it wasn't a horrible move to bring in a hard hitting RD and Columbus could afford to pay Gudbranson over market price to assure they got him, I really only hate the term. I would have liked the deal a lot more if it were, say, a two year deal.
Who was missed: Ryan Strome. Don't love the player, hate the deal. feels like he's regressed since leaving NYR, and is on a 5x5 when his brother Dylan is performing better on a cheaper contract.

Well put! Gudbranson is a good Bottom pair or depth guy that can hit and play a simple game. Nothing wrong with a team like Columbus who has young D overpaying for him. You're right about the length though. Giving him two years as insolation for the young guys makes makes. 4 years means you can't be happy with it

Kase wasn't a bad signing value wise, just hasn't been able to catch a break with injuries. Disappointing definately.

It's like the minute he gets close to another player he circles back and slows down. That isn't threatening at all. It bothers be because he's big and fast. He should be able to drive wide an absorb a hit but nope. He does the move I make when I'm playing with bigger, better, and faster players

Not a huge contract like some of these, but MN handing Goligoski a 2x2M, full NMC extension was weird at the time and still is.

3 points in 16 games, been healthy scratched the rest.

Basically been another $2M in added dead cap to the S&P buyouts, if you ask me.

Oh I missed him. Yes the NMC was weird.

How is no one even talking about the Flyers trading a first and second for Ristolainen, but then doubling down and re-signing him for 5mm+??? Guy is legit having one of the worst seasons ever as a defensemen, he has less points than several goaltenders too.

You are not wrong my friend! However, since this happened in March it doesn't meet the timeline of this past offseason

The trade of Zacha for Haula is what I'm referring to. I'm not a flames fan but I know he just got his first goal and I've heard that he's been a disappointment

Ah. Yeah wish we got Debrusk. I was a little disappointed they didnt get a younger player with more controll but from a purely hockey perspective, Haula has been fine but extremely unlucky.
