There is no retainage and we're just taking cap back with Blackwood. Sharks do this if Timo won't resign.

Based on this post there's a contract for $8.5M. So yes, Holtz, prospect, and 1st. We have 7 goalies in our system (maybe more with the upcoming draft), so adding Blackwood wouldn't make too much sense.

Gotcha. Well if that's the case, sharks would go ahead and retain if this is TDL deal if you're wiling to add a prospect.

Value is off due to Blackwood. He hasn't been successful (or at least lived up to expectations) and we don't have a need for him with 7 goalies in our system.

Not that I hold Frank Seravalli in very high regard as far as insiders go but he arrives at the correct conclusion here.
There are barely any comparables for Meier to return a 1st + Holtz and even less so without a reasonable long-term extension attached to the trade, to say nothing of adding AN EXTRA TOP PROSPECT ON TOP OF THAT COME ON MAN
