Not only are the Kings not doing that, but I also don't see that package being worth a 1st rounder for any team.

The Kings have no use for either of those players.

Fiala, Kempe, Moore, Iafallo, Kaliyev, Grundstrom -- why in the world would we want one year of Jonathan Drouin? The only Kings LWs or left-handed forwards that Drouin has outscored are Jaret Anderson-Dolan (6 points in 26 games) and Brendan Lemieux (3 points in 17 games), both of whom get less ToI.

Our fourth-line center, Blake Lizotte, has as many points (17) in 41 games as Monahan has in 25 games, and gets less ToI than Monahan, who wouldn't come close to replacing Kopitar or Danault in our top 6.

In short, we have absolutely no need or desire to rent either Canadien.

-Anderson's a bottom-6 player(at best) on the Devils; and Edmundson is a third pair LHD (he's not better than Siegenthaler or Graves at this point.) Why would the Devs give up a 1st this year, never mind add in three halfway decent prospects, for guys that are going to be on the bottom half of their roster?

-Every Kings fan on these boards has mentioned that the Kings' biggest need is LHD and that they have a surplus of young forwards that they struggle to get ice time; why are they going to spend assets to add two more forwards that don't really upgrade anything for them? Monahan is hurt again, so that's a red flag, and even when he's healthy he's a 3C on that team (he's not pushing Kopitar or Danault out of the depth chart), and the most generous reading would have Drouin being the 8th best winger on that team (behind Fiala, Kempe, Arvidsson, Iafallo, Vilardi, Kaliyev, and Moore). Why is that package worth at a 1st rounder & a young prospect like Helenius to them?
