that is so far from Bedard. Bedard would have to include Fox+. This is not even close

Bedard is a better prospect than McDavid.

Bedard Draft Year: 27-37-64 in 28 WHL
McDavid Draft Year: 44-76-120 in 47 OHL

Incredibly similar paces with Bedard being on a worse team (only really has Howe who is a DY-1)

If Vancouver were to get the #1overall pick (which they won’t), there is a zero percent chance they trade it.
If the Canucks got Bedard they would have a phenomenal 1-2 punch down the middle for the next decade.
Add to that, the Canucks have never had a #1 pick, Bedard would be a home town kid, and if the Canucks trade Horvat they will have a big hole at C with no good C prospects in their system, it wouldn’t make sense for Vancouver.

Bedard supposedly is all that...but let's not forget he hasn't yet played near the level of NHL hockey. This trade would be too risky for either side- and would just never happen. And i reality, any trade a lottery team might consider with their 1st pick would for sure be lottery protected- except Florida's, as that deal was already made...and who would have thought they'd go from President's Trophy winner to lottery the next year?

Is fun to think about...just not worth the time debating

Not sure NYR is best place to see young talent develop.

Canucks decline. If for whatever reason they get the 1st overall pick, there is zero chance they trade it. They are retooling. Centre is one of their biggest weaknesses, and that weakness will become even bigger if they move Horvat at the TDL. No chance they would trade Bedard, a hometown kid who could be their 1st line C for the next 15+ years.
