I normally dislike your posts. But I would not be opposed to the Leafs acquiring Bennet. Do I like the package? No. Do I think the Leafs and Florida are likely to trade? Not really. But for the first time Mr. Dinkiee, errrm sorry, Babatunde you have made a post I don’t hate.

One of the reasons they're trading is to make cap room Kerfoot makes this senseless for Florida. In this Kerfoot has negative value for them. Honestly it's with Bennetts contract an underwhelming return.

I don't think that gets you anywhere near Bennett. Have to assume that if the Panthers are offloading him they're retooling/rebuilding, so pending UFA Kerfoot is nothing but a cap hit to them(and not that attractive of a cap hit tbh). Robertson is out with a fairly significant injury for the third consecutive season, so I don't know how attractive a prospect you can consider him currently. And I'd have to assume that if they're open to moving these guys, they're going to want a 1st rounder *this* year to replace the one that they sent to Montreal last TDL, so a 2024 1st is gonna have a lower value to them.

Yeah know, Kerfoot's and Bennett's production isn't substantially different. So the Leafs give up a first and third and Robertson for two years of 4.45m Bennett.
I'd rather keep Kerfoot and young assets, and have cap room next summer to resign Bunting instead of Bennett.

?????. That's not true. One reason to trade value is gain cap space which is true in many NHL trades. Bennett's and Kerfoot production isn't much different but somehow Kerfoot has negative value? C'mon man try to be objective.
