That Chychrun trade is too low otherwise it would have already hapened.

In terms of Vancouver, I don't see the Kings moving Kaliyev at all, and very unlikely they move Petersen at the deadline, and if they did Demko isn't the goalie they would be looking for in return.

Petersen and the third for Demko is fair. Walker is better than Schenn at RhD. If you want to wave the white flag by admitting that Kuzmenko won't re-sign with you, we'll give you Grundstrom for his rights and then add the Walker-Schenn exchange if you want. Kaliyev and the first have nothing to do with anything here.

I've offered a top 15 pick for demko and a prospect and have been told it is nowhere near enough. Peterson and a 3rd? Wow

Even though Demko hasn’t been good this season, no way Petersen and a 3rd is fair. He’s been sent on waivers.

Re: your Q, sure they could do it. You've made huge upgrades in three positions and could bring back Kuzmenko too.

Demko's numbers aren't significantly different from Petersen's, either this season (3.93 GAA, 0.883 SV% vs. 3.75 GAA, 0.868 SV%) or career (48% win%, 2.94 GAA, 0.909 SV% vs. 46.8% win%, 2.92 GAA, 0.905 SV%), to make the difference between them more than a third-round draft pick, if that, because Demko's contract runs one year longer than Petersen's and is under water ($17 million over 3 years on a $5 million per year cap hit). The people who say that the difference between them is vast contend that Demko is an "elite" goalie who has just hit a speed bump. That may or may not be true, but my point is that in my opinion, Demko's trade value TODAY isn't significantly higher than Petersen's. If Demko's value is (for example) Petersen plus a first, why don't those fans simply wait for Demko's recovery?

I have nothing nice to say about this so I will simply move on with my day.

Goaltenders aren't worth a 1st round pick, in the draft or via trade. That goes for Shesterkin and Vasilevskiy too.

I won't say that Demko and Petersen have the same trade value, but Demko is certainly not worth a 1st + Kaliyev.
