holl gets more money than that i'd think, he's been good this year and his archetype is very highly coveted

Fair enough. All i hear I've heard from Leafs fans I know the last couple years is how they hate him and he's not even worth 2 mil, so I was basing it off that. What do you think he would get?

Caps aren't trading Mantha away. He's their 2nd best winger.

I've come around to believing this too, I don't think they will. I think they hope/bet that he can catch fire either soon or in the playoffs (would be awesome) because he has some skills that are pretty nuts. wink

Ovi, Tom, Osh (when healthy) are all better than mantha consistently. If Mantha plays his best for a majority of the season that changes. All Mantha has ever been is streaky.

I'm not positive he'll be traded either, but he aint our second best winger lol. I'll take Ovi, Sheary, Osh, Willy (when healthy), Stromer (when we have healthy centers,) and Milano all day over Mantha. And i really like Mantha. It's not that he's played bad or anything, because he hasn't. But those guys I listed have all outplayed him this year, and all but Ovi and Oshie (barely) are on a cheaper deal. It's not that I want him moved, but we need to clear cap this offseason if we are gonna bring back guys like Strome, Orlov, and Sheary, and Manthas contract makes the most sense.

Am really liking Strome and Milano on this team. I really hope the Caps can keep them plus Orlov. If Jensen becomes too expensive, just let him go and move on (even though I like him).

I love Jensen, I just think out of all our free agents, he's the most likely one that somebody will grossly overpay for in free agency.

I laugh now because Mantha was just moved to 4th line wing tonight against Columbus. Sheesh...

Only Ovi is better, MAYBE Tom when he's healthy, but he's miles better than Oshie.

That's more on coaching. He's 5th in points and 2nd in 5v5 points among forwards. Only reason he is the 2nd highest scorer on the team is Lav plays him with bottom 6 players and he gets no PP time. And even on the 4th line he dominated and got a nasty primary assist. He's a beast.

Not even close. Only Ovi is better. Oshie definitely isn't better. Sheary isn't. MAYBE Willy is he's healthy. Strome is a center. Milano has been playing great but if Mantha played with all the talent Milano has and got PP time like Milano has, Mantha would be the teams 2nd best poitn producer.

We'll have plenty of room this summer, no need to trade Mantha.

He is and they would be incredibly dumb to trade Mantha (unless the return is amazing). He's so freakn good and not being utilized like he deserves. If he got top 6 linemates and PP time he'd be right behind Ovi for production.

Eh, don't read too much into it. The 4th line needed a more offensively driven player with Dowd out, and Mantha fit better to create a big 4th line (6'5-6'5-6'3) and to contribute offense than Milano, Johansson, or Sheary. Once Dowd returns, I would expect Mantha to go back to his normal role.

Definitely don't want to trade Mantha. He needs better deployments. I would meet you in the middle and says he has the highest ceiling for wingers besides Ovi. When he's on he's awesome. Hoping we will see him hit his stride soon.
