remind me why we are paying a first and prospect for someone with 16 points in 38 games this season? This doesn't solve the only thing we could use at F which is another scoring option.

Barbashev is putting up Kerfoot numbers Both are UFA at season's end. Shouldn't the Leafs get a first and prospect for Kerfoot then?
Sorry such a waste of assets for a middling player.

this season, hasn't even been an upgrade on Holmberg. I know experience and all that, but at a certain point experience alone isn't worth demoting an equivalent player at worst (so far this season) and moving a 1st and prospect

So many Leaf fans just love acquiring middling players from other team, especially non playoffs, thinking those guys are difference makers.

i mean you need them, but we have a lot of that - Kerfoot, Kampf, Engvall, Holmberg, Jarnkrok are all middling defensive-minded 3rd liners. We could use someone who can be an actual scoring threat, but not more of the same.

IMO the Leafs bottom six forwards are very good. The top five forwards I've very good. You're right, finding top another winger would help enormously, otherwise the Leafs are depending on someone to emerge as a scoring threat through hopefully 25 games of playoffs....which seems unlikely for such a long stretch of time

Why would we trade probably our best prospect and a 1st which we have very little early pick for a 3rd liner??

Bunting - Matthews - Nylander
ScoringWinger - JT - Marner
Kerfoot - Kampf - Engvall
ZAR - Holmberg - Jarnkrok

Hunt, Knies (not on roster, but called up at first injury)

Rielly - Brodie
Sandin - Liljegren
Gio - Holl

Timmins, still think we should go for a physical-style D like Schenn in case. Even if he's not in the starting 6, can't risk really needing that element and not having it available

this would be optimal imo.
