Agreed, but what if we got Horvat as a rental, dumped Carter and Kapanen and idk maybe Vancouver keeps 1mil on the new contract?

Then maybe is he worth the chance to replace Zucker next season and hope he shuts up and bounces back?

This team desperately needs some secondary scoring

The biggest and dare I say only reason to get rid of J.T is to be able to resign Bo.

Second question, how do you resign Bo after this year?

He definitely walks, Pens could only use him as a rental.
Maybe back to Canucks in the offseason now that he doesn't have to deal with Miller lol

Not that this would EVER happen lol, but if it did I think they could theoretically sign Horvat with the contracts coming off the books and cap increasing slightly. Assuming he gets paid similar to Kadri that is. He would basically replace Zucker in the lineup so would only need to find another 1.5-2mil

I am not joking at all and you're missing the point. There's nothing wrong with the value of this trade. Sure, on the surface we get rid of Kap, Dumo and Carter. Great. Now we're stuck with Miller's $8M for seven years? Let's be honest, if his value didn't take a hit, this trade would be laughed out by every single VAN fan here. His value has taken hit because he's proven to be a terrible teammate and a locker room cancer, so no, it's not a joke. Pens pass.

If this deal was proposed a earlier in the season before all this got out? Pens would jump all over this.

Yeah if you go to the VAN team page it's correct. But if you just look up JT or look at his salary on this ACGM - it's still 5.25 for 1 year. At least that's how it is for me.
