I don't doubt for a second that Pettersson wants to deal this professionally. Going or having his agent going to the public with clear dissatisfaction of things will start such a rumor mill without end, very likely to cause problems for himself as well. That is not what he wants, especially now that his team is seriously struggling against all expectations.

There's much more nuance to things that can't be seen with the naked eye.


Regarding your first paragraph, I would sure hope that Pettersson wants to play for a winning team. I'd imagine all NHL players want to play for a contender. Management just needs to make up their minds and display an outline of their future plans with the team. Pettersson is the core building block. Even Quinn Hughes would likely be gone before Pettersson. If he was really unhappy with the team's direction (I would not blame him at all, the Canucks are a dumpster fire), he wouldn't consider signing a new contract with them. His agent says that they plan on discussing a new contract on July 1st which is the earliest possible date that they are allowed to discuss a new contract - a year before his contract even expires.

If Elias Pettersson does get traded though, at least our management team drafted a back up Elias Pettersson

Not gonna lie I also am in favor for one reason

Shootouts are not in playoffs so really should not be used

Just increase the criteria for what can be a penalty shot and u will get the entertainment factor if people want a 1 vs 1

I don't know, but if I were a metro team I'd be all over him b/c he's a Devil killer. Has been every game since he was traded. I think he's worth a 2nd rounder. Solid 3C on a good team, imo.

I was thinking that to but more so as a LW. Hes a guy I have been eyeing for Toronto if they want a veteran who has playoff experience.

Yeah he played a lot of Center back when he was a Devil but he's pretty versatile. He was always a very good penalty killer with ability to create short-handed opportunities.

Cause u got supposed 100+ point players and are barely in a playoff spot thats why. Its pretty big news for a team who has McDavid and Draisaitl to be in the position where they are. And other fans were discussing it not just us.
