A few thoughts from last night's games:

1. Paul Maurice's challenge on Vegas' go-ahead goal last night was the worst challenge I've seen since the rule was implemented.
2. Why are MacKinnon and Mikko playing on separate lines? Makes no sense when you're struggling to score. Avs better get it together fast.
3. Carolina gets 5G from Defensemen. If they can add a top six goal scorer at the TDL look out.
4. Nice to see Pettersson and Quinn playing well. The two of them, along with Bedard, are the future. Time to sell/tank.

A brief overview of last game, since i didn't finish writing my notes, and i'm putting more time into writing the mid-season report:

-It really says something when another team's DEFENSEMEN are better at scoring goals than our FORWARDS. It's f*cking pathetic.

-This is the second time we've been outshot by 20+ shots by the Canes. This team really has our number...

-On the bright side, we're getting Nick Blankenburg back next game? He's come off IR now.

Stay tuned for the mid-season report coming up either later today or some time tomorrow.

Tolvanen scored again - I believe that’s 4 goals in his last 5 games. 22 teams passed on him.

Kraken before Tolvanen: 18-12-4
Kraken PP before Tolvanen: 22.6%

Kraken after Tolvanen: 7-0-0
Kraken PP after Tolvanen: 27.8%

Tolvanen with Kraken: 4-2-6 in 7 GP, 13.14 TOI/GP

I love when hockey fans assume that coaches and GMs are infallible and the fact that many teams passed on him must mean he’s not good.

I mean each player has a team that fits them and doesn't fit them. Some players go to a certain team and can't even crack the 4th line. They go to another team and they're a top line player with great analytics.

It’s almost like playing in a different system MIGHT unlock more potential lol.

I really fell that way for Puljujärvi too. He needs to get out of EDM

How?
After years now, the NHL-bingo-balls never fall into the False Creek cesspool!

AND

MTL will have x-tra picks/bouncing-ballz:
MTLs + FLA (Chiarot's unprotected #1-Rd-er)

VAN is destined to slip backward....................................

You know, I'd ont know. At the beginning, the Canadiens were looking like they were overachieving recently its looked like they are underachieving . I think during the 2nd half, the Canadiens will be around or slightly above a .500 team, which would make their lottery chances worse. For Florida, they are trending in the right direction soon, I wouldn't be surprised with like 8th Overall and 15th.

List of RHD prospects projected to go in the first 2 rounds of the 2023 draft (Tankathon):
Axel Sandin-Pelikka
David Reinbacher
Lukas Dragecevic
Cameron Allen
Maxim Strbak
Beau Akey
Hunter Brzustewicz
Oliver Bonk

In my opinion, the Canucks should acquire at least 2 more 2023 first round picks (Horvat, Kuzmenko trades), and a couple more 2023 second round picks (Schenn, additional pieces for Horvat or Kuzmenko trade). If the Canucks can get 6 picks in the first 2 rounds, they will be able to fill the empty cupboards. They should acquire 2 forwards in the first round, and one of the top RHD prospects with their late first acquired from trade. I'd like the Canucks to walk away with at least 2 new RHD

Funny that you think Kuzmenko is fetching 1st + 2nd. Same with Schenn getting a 2nd lol.
Motte for a 2nd, right?

Yep

As hes making 950k and has almost 20 goals and 40 points rn

Kuzmenko is the cheapest cap hit guy at the TDL who has been producing on par with most of the big guys for sure a 1st is going back. As when u consider Van could retain 50% this guys gonna only cost a team 475k

Heard Washington and Tampa have been heavily interested

As for Schenn if Lauzon could get one dont see why not. Now Schen is a UFA so that might dip the price unless he agrees to extend

2nd plus good prospect is pretty close in value to a 1st and 2nd. Canucks got a 3rd for a worse, and 4 times more expensive Travis Hamonic. I think they could potentially pull a second for him

I'm pretty sure Lauzon was a pending UFA as well

Nope RFA

At the end of his 2 year 850k deal he was to be an RFA

Nawh, I think Kuz gets a 1st no matter what. Schenn is more likely to get a 3rd than a 2nd, but a 2nd isn't out of question.

Comeback.

DAL sucks at OT.

Other than that they're good.

Please continue as you were.

Fun fact: If Pyotr Kochetkov plays fewer than 7 games in the second half of the season he's still eligible for next year's Calder. It is still a distinct possibility as he's the only waiver-exempt Canes goaltender (on the NHL roster)

A Gurianov for Puljujärvi swap would be beneficial for both teams.

I know things are bad in PHI, but is there more of a dysfunctional franchise in the NHL right now other than VAN. Every story coming out now just sounds bad

For sure, teams declined paying that for Chychrun, EK, while better right now has a higher AAV, is older than Chych and has a lot of term

Why not just do what Avs did with Jost. Kind of dump Gurianov get cap space and go get someone who can actually make an impact.

So trade him for a league min guy whose alright then go use the cap space to go get a top 6 winger or whatever Dallas is looking for
