I think the better question is "Who gets traded?"

Sending down Mattias Janmark and running a 20 man roster isn't enough to put them under the cap, and who knows what they do with Warren Foegele. I've heard him in talks of moving.

The thing is they aren’t really comparable, sure they’re both 1C’s but Thompson is a lot more of an offensive talent while Pettersson is more well rounded ( as the above stats Juiceman used showed )

Ryan Murray was also sent to LTIR. While AGM offers only a simplified look at the salary cap, I believe sending Murray and Yamamoto to LTIR creates enough space to accommodate Kane without anyone else being sent to Bakersfield. The Oilers were operating with about $2M of extra cap space while Kane was out. They aren't as up against their LTIR pool as previous teams to utilize the space have been.

Sometimes I really wish Barrie would just move to forward because 4.5 mil for a forward with 32 points in 45 games wouldn't all that bad

Agreed. Thompson is a little better offensively however Pettersson is the better 2 way player

tbqh you'd expect teams that have pro scouts to attend games frequently. feel like this information just drives misguided speculation

Maybe equipment malfunction caused him to skip warmup, I’ve also seen some people throw around accusations that Provorov skipped the warmup to not wear a pride jersey ( which is purely speculative, not that he’d openly admit that anyways )
