Why would the Sens (or anyone) want Dumba? Typically, 14th place teams don't look to add players at the deadline. Especially overpaid bad players on expiring contracts.

RDs will get overpaid in free agency. Players usually don’t choose ottawa. If you can get a sign and trade for a good RD you do it. Dumba isn’t the answer tho

Given their offseason they probably planned to be a little better than where they are. It's not that uncommon for teams like that to strengthen themselves, especially when the playoff train hasn't fully ran away yet.

That being said, adding Dumba doesn't really solve the core problem of that team, which is for better or worse, DJ Smith.

I understand the frustration Sens fans are probably feeling. I've watched the Devils finish near the bottom of the Eastern Conference for years, even after making significant roster moves over the summer. The best thing for the Sens, or any team in their position, is to finish near bottom of the standings and get a high draft pick, especially in a loaded draft. Then, make a coaching change and bolster their D over the summer. It's a proven recipe for success. Trying to finish 8th and snag a WC spot will only set them back long term. ARI made this mistake a couple seasons ago when they traded for Taylor Hall. More recently, the Hawks made the mistake of trading for Seth Jones when they weren't close to contending. All they accomplished was prolonging an already arduous rebuild.

Can’t wait to see how the NHL rigged the All-Star vote, some fans spent 24/7 tweeting about their players, I’d be very surprised if Caufield/Stutzle doesn’t make it

i think for atlantic the votes were Caufield-Stutzle-Nylander so its gotta be 22 and 18.

Yeah, what’s interesting is Leafs twitter fans were actually pushing for Nylander and not Matthews, unless the NHL nerfed the Twitter caimpaign’s add to the votes, Matthews shouldn’t even be the n.1 Leafs player to get voted in

80+ PIM from both teams, 3 fights, lots of arguing, lots of scrums (i assume), lots of refs back on their sh*t, panthers go 4/7 on PP (after paul maurice criticized the officials), and a heck of a lot more

This Oilers-Tampa game is surprisingly heated, already 2 major scrums and a fight and it's the first intermission

lol the divisional format for the all star game is awful and has been every year since it's inception.

the 2011 and 2012 versions of the all star game was such a great way to do it; can't believe they got mad that popular players on good teams were getting voted on.

Habs and Sens fans made a huge campaign for Cole Caufield and Tim Stutzle, Leafs fans were even campaigning for Nylander ( and not Matthews ), the NHL 10000% nerfed the twitter vote to make it not impact the selections
