That's funny thinking any team wants Krug, without sending back an equally iffy contract back.

ROR and Tarasenko need to be 50% retained to fit Toronto and Edmonton respectively.

No team is taking on Torey Krug without sending back an equally bad contract, And Krug already said that both He and his Wife need to be close to their families in Michigan. And Sunrise is over 1,100 miles so i doubt Krug would waive for Florida.

Think cap strapped Florida does? That's trouble with trying to trade long term cap, hardly any teams (especially those on his trade list ) would be willing do it without sending cap back.
6.5m? Can find better value in UFA.

Krug still has 4 more years after this one, And Reinhart one more year. Not going to work for Florida who's going to be cap strapped.

Ehhh I would not get my hopes too far up on Snuggs being ready next season. He still has a lot of work to do, his skating in particular.

I always have to kind of raise my eyebrow at this "Krug needs to be close to family" thing because St. Louis is not really all that close to the Michigan border, let alone anywhere you want to go in Michigan. He's almost certainly flying either way and if that's the case what difference does it make if he's flying from St. Louis or Florida. Not intimate with the situation or anything but logically that just doesn't really work for me.

The Blues' beat writer for the Athletic has reported that of the guys with NTCs he could see Krug being the most willing to move. What that means is up for speculation, and I agree it's going to be more difficult than stands here, but I think unless you're sending him to like Arizona or LA or somewhere in Canada he'd probably be open to it. If a team makes it clear they don't want you anymore, the calculus usually isn't that hard.

St Louis is still about 700 miles from Detroit, Sunrise is 1,100 miles so there's still a big difference there by 400 miles or so.

Perhaps Krug does waive, But i doubt it's too Florida who's already cap strapped. Perhaps back to Boston or something like that.

That ship sailed 2 years ago. Boston already has a 5'9" LD who is 2 years younger with a cap hit of 3.7M, has 1 year left on his deal who does not make 8.5M in real dollars the next 2 years. St Louis is stuck with that one. Everything being equal or even less than equal, Motown was the place for him in free agency. Opportunity missed for both sides?
