I think all trades are fair, but Anderson shouldn't be included in the Meier trade, it's better for both teams. Just send Armia to the AHL instead.

Would rather see Meier with Caufield & Suzuki, leaving Slaf-Bedard-Dach on the 2nd Heart Eyes

Yeah, the Oilers need 1st round picks a lot more than cups. Doesn't have to be Edmundson and it doesn't matter how good the draft is. Every year Edmonton keeps its 1st round pick, is another year they've failed to do everything they can to win a cup while they have McDavid.

Yea that gives caulfield and Suzuki size on their line, but a set up guy would be better.

If we do end up with Bedard, we have Slafkovsky with Roy en route. I wouldn't rush out to start buying complimentary forwards just yet.

Buffalo Declines. Not giving the best NA Collegiate goalie prospect for that. Starts with Barron. You want a very good prospect, it starts with a very good prospect.

Buffalo has 0 reason to move Levi, especially not for that trade. If you wanted Levi, It would take one of your top prospects.

Farrell is a very good prospect. I wouldn't trade my top goalie prospect either, but this is about the best you could expect if you were to trade him. Nobody is giving up a top prospect for a goaltender drafted in the 7th round that is unproven at the professional level. Even established goaltenders don't often garner a top prospect in trade.

I don't know why Montreal would be after Levi anyway, but that's not directed at you. Dobes is performing well enough (at least on par with Levi) and has NHL size. If we're in the market for a goaltender, it's because we need somebody sooner, as Levi/Dobes are both likely 3-5 years away from being potential starters.

Farrell is one of our top prospects not in the NHL, I don't know why he isn't liked very much by fans. He has 22 points in 14 games in the NCAA this year. He had just over a ppg as a freshman and now as a sophomore he is at nearly 2 ppg. I suspect a lot of the dislike comes from his size, everyone thinks he is too small just like Caufeild

Why do Montreal fans sincerely think they're getting an untouchable goalie prospect for free??

The Sabres have the best prospect pool in the league and youngest forward group in the NHL. They have 0 need for Farrell. Everyone knows who Levi is, they aren't giving him up for spare parts

He is unsigned, and we really don't need another 5' 9" forward. We are pretty loaded at Forward, we could use some RD throughout or organization.

Farrell is 21 and has never seen AHL or NHL ice, he's also a 4th round pick. To call him a decent prospect would be a stretch. You're right, nobody is moving a top prospect for a goalie prospect, that's why Buffalo would rather keep him and develop him in their system. This trade does not go through.

I'll agree buffallo has a very deep prospect pool, but I wouldn't say the best. I'd go with AZ having the top prospect pool.

I'm quoting the Athletic when I say they have the best. There are challengers, I wouldn't say Arizona is one though

I wouldnt really use the Athletic as a primary source when giving hockey opinions lol.

Buffalo definitely has a top 5 prospect pool, hell, maybe even top 3. I'd still believe AZ is deeper.

I've said it before, if you want a Sabres goalie prospect, make an offer for portillo. The Sabres have absolutely no reason to move Levi, and it would take something you don't wanna give to move him.

That's true of every prospect that takes the NCAA or European route, doesn't mean they aren't good prospects.

Farrel is 3rd in p/g (last I checked). If that's not "decent" then how is the goaltender in 25th(ish?) for save percentage worth anything at all?

It's fine to value one player more than another, but that doesn't mean the other one is nothing.

Thats completely fair and understandable but that is also totally different than what you guys said. You both said Buffalo would want a top prospect back, of which Farrell is. Barron is likely untouchable for now seeing as our RD depth is even shallower than the Sabres.
