I don't mind the Mantha for Boeser swap. I think it might be what caps and Boeser needs. I'm not sure if it's quite right though. Rumor has it that the Canucks are ready to sell Boeser for cheap, so mantha might be an overpayment. I also don't think they want any players/cap back

not as bad as Vrana situation because he’s not showing up the coach like v did but if Caps can move him out without getting fleeced, it would give us some useful cap room for next year. Would not trade for any of these overpaid Canuck players.

I had such high hopes for Mantha when Detroit drafted him. High skill. Low motor. Red Wings fans were fooled after he lit up the Q. I guess that's why he dropped to Detroit in the draft. We were warned but chose to ignore it. He's going to be retired one day and think "Man I should've tried harder." Or maybe he'll be laughing all the way to the bank? Likely both.

The only way the Canucks would be selling Boeser for cheap is if its for futures. If its for money coming back there is no point. Mantha is no where close to an overpayment. Just look at their production and age. Silliness. If you wanna add a 1st to Mantha that is a reasonable deal.

Are you saying you think Boeser is worth Mantha and a 1st?

Around that ya. Mostly because Mantha coming back is of no value to Vancouver. Boeser has been an effective scorer more recently than Mantha and hes 3 yrs younger.

Boeser is not worth a first, he’s definitely not worth Mantha and a 1st. Mantha has better underlying statistics (i like boeser more tho).

Boeser is more expensive and has more term left. Not saying a trade makes sense here but if one did happen a first wouldn’t be added.

We're saying the same thing then. What I was responding to was a Caps fan worried that Mantha was an overpayment for Boeser. I was just kinda letting them know that it would likely take a lot more than Mantha to get Boeser. As I mentioned because of the upside on Boeser and where the Canucks are as an organization. As for underlying numbers, this yr Mantha is better but not before that.
