    There's no way the top Defensive UFA (who is 28) this summer signs for less than 5 years.

    I would live with 4 but for 5 the money would go down a little bit

    Yeah try more like 7 years $45.5 million he wants the Pietrangelo deal at the very least. That's a $6.5 million AAV over the 7 years.

    Kovalchuk isn't getting the Devils Hamonic not even close. Hamonic for a 34 year old forward don't think so.

    If you want Shattenkirk for 4 years or less, you'll have to back up the money truck. $9 or $10 million per, I would think. He's gonna get at least $36 million on the open market, so you need to get to that amount of money even if you get him for a shorter term.

    For the record, I don't think he's worth near that. I'm a Devils fan, and I hope they stay far away. If he wants to come here for 2 years and $20 million, fine. Otherwise, no thanks.
