Kings deal helps out both sides imo. Buffalo gets their needed top-4 defenseman in Martinez who can put up points from the backend and has the puck moving we lack. They also pick up Gaborik from the Kings to help them get out from under his contract. Gaborik had his bet years out east and I think his style of play fits the East more and he could see a rejuvenation here. Buffalo gets a 2nd and a solid prospect in Brodzinski for taking on the deal. The Kings get the top-6 power forward they lost a couple years ago when letting Lucic walk. He plays the Kings style very well and they also pick up a good goalie prospect in the process.

The Penguins deal I was playing around with. Hagelin could use a change of scenery but is a beast PKer and uses his speed to his benefit. Ennis also could use a change of scenery and is a good puck possession player along the boards and I could see fitting well in Penguins system

This is a team in transition from rebuilder to contender. All the youngsters are still in ROCH to learn how to win and Buffalo has solid veterans as their placeholders for a couple years

Darn that's a good trade with the Kings. I don't like the 2nd round pick piece AND Brodzinski. I'd do one or the other. If Kane was signed for two years, I'd do it in a heartbeat, but with only one year guaranteed? I'm not so sure. Kings got burned bigtime on the Lucic deal.

If you could get the Kings to retain 1M of Gaboriks deal this is a solid trade. Don't want to pay more than 4M for Gaborik

Buffalo won't take a contract like that. If they do, I'll be extremely surprised.

that is not a good trade on the Kings part because they would be losing a 2nd rounder, a scorer in Gaborik and a talented defensemen in Martinez for Kane. No way
