I'm no TSN Insider but I'm fairly certain FLA does not accept this, with or without a Kerfoot extension.

The old trick trying to justify a trade by making adding extension in it. Take away Bennett's PP production, which he wouldn't get in Toronto, his offence is the same as Kerfoot's.
Leafs really can't afford Bennet and Laughton next season.

Clears cap for Florida and gives them more depth with Robertson.

Kerfoot extension would come in less than Bennett and gives em a 2nd rounder to utilize for help on the back end

Bennett would produce in Toronto. His lack of production comes from the system Paul Maurice plays. It’s similar to Sutter in Calgary which he struggled in.

The Leafs can afford it. A lot of rookies are coming up next year and already have a 8/9 forwards spots filled. 9/9 if we included Dishenko who would make next years team

Panthers give up better players and only get a second back. They decline.

Gotta think your math is wrong. Certainly the Leafs would want to resign Kampf, Holmberg, Bunting and Timmins, Samsonov. Oh well, the cap goes 1m

Holmberg and Timmins are RFAs we control their rights.

Kampf and Bunting can stay but it needs to be a team friendly deal. We already have rookies that can make the lineup next year

The panthers also don’t have salary cap space. This moves gives salary cap relief as they now can run a 21 man roster instead of 20 man

They have plenty of space with hornqvist on the ir and probably not coming back. Plus if he does come back this doesn’t solve the issue.

Holy that FLA trade is bad.

Kerfoot, a struggling prospect and a 2nd for Sam bennett (who FLA needs and is better than kerfoot), one of their better prospects in Denisenko and a 5th.
That's terrible for FLA, they'd laugh before you even finished the offer.

And NSH declines on Engvall. Not buying a bottom 6 we don't need.

Florida gets cap space and depth…

That’s 2 things that Florida lacks this year you know.

Ah yes if he doesn’t come back. That’s a big if.

Furthermore Toronto helps Florida with depth in this trade and give them back draft capital they traded away.

Depth? What depth. A player who won’t play in the nhl yet if he makes it and a worse player for a measly late 2nd. It’s horrible for Florida.while losing one of their better prospects and a mid pick.
