Modest Deadline w Kane out Continued pt 2

Created by: Nikolai_Khabibulin
Team: 2023-24 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 9, 2023
Published: Jan. 10, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
2022-23:
- If Kane gets his knee/hip cleaned out and is out the rest of the year and signs a 1 year extension, i'd assume toews is less likely to leave then as well. resign them both and see what happens next year. Also resign domi as he has seemingly fit in well.
- Moves made to usher in the next wave on the defensive end. McCabe has been great, 2 2nd's would be tough to turn down given the depth and potential appeal of just adding a veteran piece at LHD in the offseason.

2023-24:
- Resign Toews and Kane to 1 year deals to postpone their decision.

That Los Angeles deal is heavily favored by Chicago. Sean Walker is a good defenseman. His start to this season wasn’t not great but lately he’s being more noticeable on the ice like previous Years. But he just came back after missing a year of hockey.

McCabe isn’t that much better than Walker. Especially for 2 Additional Second round Picks. I follow Rob Blake’s transactions and I can guarantee based off of his trade traits, he definitely would not accept this one.

The most you’ll get in Return is Walker + 3rd Rounder. If McCabe is worth more than that according to Chicago, Los Angeles would be willing to offer more than that to get a Solid 1st paring LD.

If Kane and Toews are moved, they're not going back to dumpster fire Chicago.

Olli Maatta is getting a heck of a lot more than 1 x $2,900,000. He'll probably remain in Detroit for 2-3 years @ $3,500,00 per AAV.

Patrick Kane knee cleaned out and done for season? Where did you see the possibility of that? All Chicago reporters have said it is short term, could return by their next game this Thursday. Seems like you’re stirring the pot and making stuff up for no reason.

Elliotte Friedman was speculating on his 32 thoughts podcast yesterday about "CHI shutting Kane down and him getting surgery". Yeah... at this point, he's just stirring the pot. Pretty crappy of him to do so, too.
