Why is Buffalo adding? As much flack as Mitts gets he’s at worst a bottom 6 player, where Eetu probably tops out at. The difference in Montour and Joki isn’t a 2nd.

The Jets have no incentive to give Heinola away for nothing.

We can't trade Vatrano in the same season we signed him, we will never attract another UFA as long as Verbeek is the GM if we do.

We would do Comtois and a either BOS or COL 2nd for Reinhart. He is both having a down year as well as we will burn the rest of that contract before we are in a position to compete, and he is likely going to want big money to stay.

Vatrano can't move yet, maybe next tdl earliest

Also think you'd be closer to what Verbeek is looking for doing a deal around Verhaeghe

You could be correct.
First, It would certainly hurt to give up Jokiharju, but Montour is FLA top defenseman, playing 24 minutes per game.
While Power is expected to provide offensive production he may be Buffalo's best blue line defender.
With Montour as Power's RHD Buffalo would have 4 D-men consuming over 50 of the 60 minutes of the game.
Second, Luostarinen does not have the ceiling of Mittelstadt, but he will PK and hit more than Casey while being +11 v Casey's -11.
Third, it is a late second, nearly a third.
Finally, Buffalo does not lose much scoring replacing Casey with Eetu but it gains grit and defense.
Buffalo would do well to make this trade.

EDIT: What Buffalo need to add if Jokiharju was not part of the trade?
