I wouldn’t trade Meier for that honestly. Taking cap back plus retaining for a struggling prospect and a likely pick in the 30s. Not enough at all

Fabian Lysell is not struggling. He has 20 points in 21 AHL games. Sure, he sucked at the world juniors, but, so what. He has done well in the pros.

The Kings aren't looking to trade for futures. If they're trading away top quality prospects, they want immediate help.

How is lysell struggling? What he plays bad at WJ and is considered struggling? He is near ppg in the AHL my guy

He was the best player for Sweden at the previous WJ. Their coach sucks and only a handful of players actually performed for him at both WJ not to mention you get what 1 week to train with all different guys and learn a whole new system ya not everybody ends up doing the greatest.

Sorry but Lysell’s AHL/ WHL/ NHL pre-season/ NHL prospect challenge performances greatly shadow over a bad 2 weeks at a WJ tournament that has had some of the biggest busts greatly perform on that stage.

Are we gonna call lambert/ fantilli/ ohgren/ ostlund and other high potential prospects busts and struggling because they all didn’t live up to expectations at the WJ?

We might aswell call your Eklund a bust to since lysell is way outperforming him in the AHL

Oh I just get so frustrated when a prospect gets hated on over a bad week or 2 of hockey. ESPECIALLY the WJ’s I find that one of the worst ways to judge a prospect.

Very little preparation time to learn a system/ understand your teammates/ understand the players your are facing off against and their system.

These guys also aren’t pro’s yet so they don’t quite learn and adjust as quick as a 7 yr NHLer would when being traded to a new team

I do like Charlie Coyle a lot but, 3 more years at $5.25m is a bit much for a guy that has hit 20 goals and/or 50 points once in his career.

I’d take him with some retention tho.

Maybe like a Million or two for retention. but I think Detroit would have to give up more then, due to the retention (cuz it's for three years).

Honestly right now I wouldn’t move coyle for anything less then a 1st. Yes his cap hit doesn’t seem the greatest but he is definitely worth it for us. He produces at a .5ppg rate or higher on the 3rd which he didn’t have much help till this year with hall. He’s playing elite defence he runs our PK1 and takes a lot of our defensive draws.

So for ya atleast a Center who produces at a .5ppg plays great offensively and defensively at 5v5 and basically runs our PK now and doesn’t rely on PP to produce he definitely is worth his price tag.

But I would understand from an outsiders perspective not getting to watch him every game like us B’s why he wouldn’t be worth the cap.

Coyle probs wouldn’t waive anyways he’s an MA boy but for a team like Detroit who needs a veteran leader who can take on FO and defensive responsibilities he would be a great add

Oh, I am quite fond of the player. I absolutely love his game. He’s a skilled, physical, two way forward that is a heart and soul guy. He still just doesn’t produce enough and at 30 years old, it just makes the cap tough to swallow. If he was 28, it’d be a lot easier to take him but then again, if he was 28 we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

Anyhow, he’s not a guy Boston would move this year anyways.

We would trade Turcotte for Hampus Lindholm. What are the chances of that happening?

Wings should take that and then just flip him, Suter or Copp. He was good when Krejci was on LTIR a year or two ago. Boston's deployment of him doesn't help his numbers.
