If Nashville throws in the towel

Created by: ceeque84
Team: 2022-23 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 11, 2023
Published: Jan. 11, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Sissons and Jeannot both add some sandpaper to the lineup, The first going back is because they are both team controlled for another few yrs. Sissons can will also be bottom 6 right shot centre to replace D.Ryan after this yr.

F it! Give up the firsts for Chychrun at this point, he is young & has term left on an affordable contract... If Holland DIDNT have McDrai in their prime he shouldnt do this... but he has McDrai in their prime!!! Barrie going back the other way is soley to make the money work, alot of talk that Holland wont trade him because he is very popular in the room, he's also having a great season, Arizona could use him to QB the PP next season if they also move out Ghost.

Schenn adds some grit to the back end and is a reliable stay home defender, maybe they resign him for next season, or maybe Decharnais can slot in as the bottom Right pair guy by then, or Neimo on the left & Kulak can slide over to the right.

What do you think Nashville fans??? Would the Oilers have to add to this trade??
Oilers fans.... would you be happy if Holland went big and dealt all 3 of the next first rnd picks???

You’re gonna have to add on that Nashville trade. Lavoie is not having a great year and the first isn’t really all that valuable considering that it’d be in the very late stages of the first

Seems like a waste of a first in Nashville trade.

Nashville is 1 point out of wc2 and 3 points out of wc3... both with 3 games in hand. I dont see them packing things in now since theyre also on a 4 game win streak.... even if they should.

As to the trade, Foegele and Puljujarvi are both uninteresting assets for nashville. I guess the 1st is for Jeannot and Lavoie for Sissons. I personally wouldnt do it from a Nashville perspective. Sissons and Jeannot provide alot of good defensive play on the PK for Nashville and their price tag is quite reasonable. The 1st is in 2024 as well. Price is probably fine but id balk because it sets nashville back for some long term magic beans and hoping Lavoie doesnt get lost in our forward prospect pool

As you imply, Nashville and Edmonton are actually in direct competition for the same playoff spot(s), so any deal between them has the aspect of an intra-divisional exchange; as a result, the Preds should be reluctant to pull the trigger on this one.
