Playoffs teams with weak goaltending like LA, SEA, NJ are going to pay us a leg and an arm for Talbot.

I'd take Watson on the Jets to add some more toughness into the lineup when needed.

Out of curiosity what would you define as "a leg and an arm" sort of trade return for Talbot?

I would say that Sens resign Motte, great on the PK and won't take a huge cap hit to get him back, With the loss of Formenton he was doing great on 3rd line with Pinto and Joseph.

I will be curious to see what the sens do with Talbot, do they favor him over Forsberg after this season? How far away do they see Soogard as a true #1?
I would kinda find it hard to believe they come back with Talbot and Forsberg next year, but that also depends a lot on if Sogard can come to be a backup or do they go after another prospect.

Tema Canada's World Junior Goalie Thomas Milic is going to be going on a deep run in the WHL and likely the MEm cup with Seattle, as a high-profile UFA he likely will have several teams going after him, but that could be a huge signing for the Sens.

I really hope a 4th line with Kelley - Katslic becomes a standard next season as well.

We don't want soogard to be backup let's not rush him. we should just let bibeau backup forsberg to finish the season and acquire a goalie in the Offseason.

And Idk what the return could look like. Ottawa really needs RD so if we could get a decent RD for Talbot I think Dorion could pull the trigger. If we trade Talbot for picks then we'll probably use the picks as an asset in a trade for a RD.(same for prospects). we can't wait 2-3 years for some rookies to finally enter the nhl we need well established liable RD.

Do we really think that there is a top 4 RD that would be available for Talbot? I don't think the goalie market is gonna get that high around deadline.

What team needs a backup goalie for a run that has a top 4 RD that is under 30, I am having a hard time finding one. Maybe Marino from NJ

LA, SEA, NJ are playoff teams with weak goaltending. maybe CGY/EDM could look for a backup in case they don't trust their goalies. Maybe COL. most likely well just be receiving picks n prospects.

If we can only get picks and prospects for him then that is fine, but it isn't what would be best, getting an already-in-the-league "prospect" RD or a 2nd 3rd pairing guy is best and really I think the Sens are past the point of trading from picks and prospects with the stacked amount of prospects we already have. There is only a year or two now and then they need to be competing for their window. Again while it may not be a fun or sexy answer, developing internally the prospects you have JBD, Thompson, Greig, Crookshank, Boucher, Sogard is what will push this team over the edge.
