I don’t see the Canucks retaining on Boeser, at least that much. Part of the reason they want to move him is to make cap space

Great... now try to pay Boldy, Addison, and Gustavsson this offseason.

You can't.

For this package we would. Once we blow it up it's gonna be draft picks and caps space will be plentiful.

I’d definitely consider it, I’d just want to retain less. Wouldn’t want to retain more than 1.65M personally

I don't think trading away picks and one prospect is going to tank that much. There's still a lot of depth in the prospect pool that would survive the hit here

Also, this was the attempt for the cap squeeze next year in this situation https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/3855892

If you’re gonna blow it up, I would pay a ton for Elias Pettersson (the better one).

I'm literally so frustrated with this organization I would almost consider that. He'd be the last guy I'd trade and I probably wouldn't end up doing it but I might for a massive package. Give me an idea of what you'd pay for him just for fun.

I don't think cap space will be an issue in a rebuild is all.

The Wild are not good enough to go all in on a rental like this.

There's only two rentals here in the 4 players that they are getting between the trades, but idk if you want to count Gudas too much

Using the Jack Eichel trade as some form of base (recent mid 1st rounder+good young player+1st+2nd)

Ohgren+Addison+1st+2nd

From there I’d have some cap going back like Greenway and/or Middleton

Ya you see that isn't that enticing. And I'd argue Pettersson should have more value than Eichel given he is young, makes less money, Eichel was an injury concern, Pettersson better defensively etc.

I'd think it'd have to start with Boldy (Tuch) + Ohgren (Krebs) + 1st + 2nd + Greenway (cap)

You need at least one proven young player.

That was Addison in my proposal. 22 year RHD. Leads all rookie defenders with 21 points in 39 games.

He’s going to be the guy moving up next year and handling some of the stuff Dumba (pending UFA) has been doing.

Definitely not going to consider trading Boldy. He was nearly ppg last season as a 20 year old rookie coming back from injury later in the season. This year he is playing on an island with Gaudreau and a mix of AHLers/4th liners (and most recently Hartman has returned). If Fiala was still here, they’d both be over ppg. How that is comparable to Tuch at 24 with 33 points in 55 games is certainly something.

Boldy+Ohgren+1st+2nd+Greenway is an insane package. I’d shoot for a better center that wins at least 50% of their faceoffs if I’m offering that.

Addison is a 22 yr old, undersized, rookie whos been given the perfect opportunity to be a PP QB. He's playing third pair minutes for a reason. Maybe you have a higher opinion (what do you think he'll become?) but I don't really see him becoming a top 3 dman.

Boldy has a slightly better pedigree than Tuch did I'll give you that. I will say anyone who watched Tuch consistently could see despite him being on the 3rd line in Vegas he was going to be a top line winger. He was the best player on the team on any given night.

It's a big offer no doubt but you are getting a guaranteed all star level center in his prime yrs. Who's better than Pettersson honestly? That's even remotely available that is? He has a better PPG than Kaprizov.

I can't think of a single player. In terms of value as a Center here are some names ahead of him McDavid, MacKinnon, Matthews, Jack Hughes, Tage, Barkov, then youre into the Pettersson group.

Think of it from the Canucks perspective. You are trading an all star center, who is likely a top 5 MVP vote guy in the next few yrs for a good young player in Boldy and two mid to late 1st round picks that you are hoping are 2nd line players but no guarantees they even make the league in any meaningful way? It's a decent trade for a rebuilding team but not a homerun by any means.
