Meier isn't going to cost 10m/season. He'll likely take an 8x8-9m.

if you're going to give tarasenko 9mil you might as well just pay bratt, he's probably going to come in around 9-9.5

You're willing to pay Meier 10M and Tarasenko 9m but not pay Bratt?

I'd much rather give Bratt 7 x 10m than Meier.

The issue is Meier's qualifying offer is $10m. If the team who owns his rights doesn't qualify him then there is a risk you lose him for nothing I believe.

Worried about overpaying Bratt so you overpay Meier and Tarasenko instead.

Personally Id gather give VT or TM the money they have proven talent and Bratt has had Hughes by his side. If NJ is looking to win in the next 5 years depending on Goaltending. However Id gather spend the money on a est. Goalie.

Tarasenko, should get what he has now. 7 or 7.5 not more for around 3-4 years in my opinion.

Grier doesn't have to qualify Timo at 10mil. he can offer an 8 year 8.75m deal or a 10mil 1 yr deal. Timo already said he's willing to sign long term in SJ so it's petty clear he'll take the years over the 10mil one year pay.

That’s actively untrue.

Timo is not a bad player. He’s a fantastic volume shooter, aphysical top lineforward, and a player I would love to see play I. NJ…But Jesper Bratt is the player id prefer, just considering the numbers point to him being a more positive contributor (and on both sides of the ice), and all that just means one less total point on the season, and the goals are distributed elsewhere.

I don't think its a matter of who's better, Both are equal solid and TM with Nico will be a upgrade and possibly hell want to stay. Bratt wants to go elsewhere let him. ( I think he wants to stay but his agent will make him hold out for more.)

Whats a Undervalue? He could get 9 mil, But I think Fitz goes for a more established pure scorer.

Personally id take Timo. The size is needed and if you can put Vlad in its worth it rounding out the top 6 and pushing Tatar and Gov to the bottom 6.

The size is clearly not needed. NJ is one of the best teams in the league right now, and size doesn’t score goals. The Vlad money is better spent on Jesper Bratt, as he’s also a better player than Tank

Career ppg
Jesper Bratt 0.7/g
Timo Meier 0.66/g

As already mentioned, Bratt literally is the better scorer, and a better player, with a better RFA situation that Meier, and you’re giving up Bratt+ for him… so yes. Undervalue

Bratt for Meier 1 for 1 is an overpay from NJ let alone the rest youve added

Size matters in hockey. If you don't think so you are insane. If you want a cup run you need more then just pure scorers.
Having Size with speed and playmaking in Timo is what this team needs.

The Offseason is built off of overpays. Maybe you get rid of a draft pick from the trade. But losing BW would be a good thing for NJ and picking up 3rd in a deep draft is solid. SJ isn't willing to start there rebuild so they will probably want more for Timo.
Offseason are meant for overpays when you have star players.
Ill take Timo and Vlad as a combo over Bratt

Size doesn’t exclusively score goals. It’s a find measurement to use, but only when it is being valued correctly. Here you were a presented with numbers that Bratt is the better player, and are clearly overvaluing a few inches and some more weight, over the player that numbers favor

The offseason is built off overpays, but Fitzy has not built the Devils off of them with the exception of Palat
