avs still need compher,
Hayes is an interesting target but I dont think teams are lining up to send a 2023 1st for him. Rather wait till hes eventually bought out by the Flyers, it seems destined for that

It probably isn't headed to a buyout. Trading him at 50% is a better situation for Philly and for whatever team would want to add Hayes to their lineup

If the options are buyout or that, then the return will probably be lower than fans hope.

He’s an offseason deal for the avs then, they don’t have the cap space and don’t have the ltir long term to add him. They can’t touch their fwds to make cap room bc the whole idea is adding to their depth not upgrading a player in it

That's fine. Still preferential to have him 3 years on the book at 50% than 6 years at varying hits

Nobody is giving that up for Hayes imo. With rumours of a buyout a possibility he won't have the value. The Avs certainly won't be interested in trading JTC for him or the '23 1st.
