I highly doubt Seattle's going to bite on this. The Kraken have plenty of forwards and center options already, the only reason they may add one is to help with faceoffs. Hayes with his 47.2 FO% is not going to solve that issue. It doesn't make sense for them to give up their first rounder this year and a good prospect for an aging player at a position where there's not a glaring hole, when they are still building up their prospect pool as a new franchise.

No, we're not including Quint Byfield in any trade package for Ivan Provorov. Alex Turcotte, maybe; Blake Lizotte, certainly; but not QB (or Phillip Danault or Anze Kopitar, for that matter).

Canes pass easily. JVR isn’t a need for us and we can’t afford that cap hit

First of all, Morrow isn’t getting traded, especially since he is likely to take Burns’ spot when a burns is done. As for JVR, he isn’t a requirement, and the Canes would need max retention for the cap to work, but he would likely help the PP and add a bit more depth scoring to the mix.

They almost certainly will. Nobody is going to take him at full salary, a buyout is a way worse monetary option, and based on how his year has gone here he 100% won't be on the roster next season. Will be curious to see which team trades for him, but I'd actually say Hayes traded with 2.5-3.5 AAV in retention is most likely case scenario
