That’s even worse than most of these offers for Horvat to Carolina. For that price, Horvat can just rot in Vancouver for the rest of the season.

Ottawa doesn't have the cap space next year to take on another overpaid, useless RD

I think you meant to make Horvat Petterssen. For either Jarvis or Morrow, Horvat is a non starter. For both? We're talking EP with retention. BOY HOWDY That's a bad deal.

You go from one hyperbole to another. Pettersson becomes the best player on CAR if he gets traded... then youre asking for retention. We are talking Aho (almost UFA), Morrow, Jarvis and then some hahaha

Just one of three Canes fans delusional about Horvat’s value with the excuse that they won’t trade “futures” for him. The price for Horvat will still be your top prospect.

Just taking what Sportsnet put together, from someone who knows better than both of us... I actually left their suggested 3rd rounder out because I thought it was too steep. Here's the article: https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/four-potential-trade-destinations-and-proposals-for-bo-horvat/

Honestly who cares? I did this one for any team that would be ok taking that cap space for 1 year since after his 5 million dollar signing bonus is paid any team that takes him will be paying one year at only $1 million in actual salary and would get an upgraded draft pick for it. It could be Arizona or Seattle or whoever, someone will do it. Only thing that would prevent it is he has a modified no move. Either way, I still left 6 million in cap space so I could just bury him in the minors or keep him on the team and it wouldn't make a difference to the team assembled.

Also I chose Ottawa because they proved they were an easy mark after the Hamonic deal smile

Honestly I'd be happy with Morrow and a first but Sportsnet had it at a much higher price. Guess we'll have to wait and see. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/four-potential-trade-destinations-and-proposals-for-bo-horvat/

And Morrow won’t be getting moved, and the Canes don’t dish out firsts for rentals. From a Canes point of view, the only reason we have to “wait and see” is when these ridiculous posts will stop.

In that article, Bukala says the Canes could “Kucherov” Patches. There is a couple of problems with that logic: 1) Patches has already been activated and has been very good in the games he played; and 2) even if Patches was going to be one the shelf until the playoffs, Waddell has publicly stated that he was not going to pull a Kucherov. Moving Jarvis is not an option with the cap complexion whilst he is on his ELC. Moving a top line winger on his ELC for a rental would be massively unwise. Noesen has been too important to the Canes PP this year to move, and if he gets moved, it will be a move down to the Wolves. You might want to fact check your sources before you use them, cause Bukala clearly isn’t a reliable source.

Again, I'd be happy with Morrow and a first. That said, even though it's a speculative article these guys know way more than you or I, so I stand by my trade.
