Out of all those trades how is Boeser getting the best return?

because almost half his salary is being retained for three years. he'd be making 3.35 mil against your cap which isn't bad for a 25 year old with term who can score you 20-25 goals and 50 points.

He still isn't worth close to that return. Beck is pretty much untouchable and that pick is coming from a team that likely looks very different by the time draft actually happens.

Add the fact that Montreal is already loaded with shooting wingers and it's just not a match

Why would Montreal care about salary retention or basically reverse their rebuild for a player like Boeser?

If Montreal were to trade for Boeser, it would be a hockey trade, not a futures trade.

that would increase his value for a team that is close to the cap ceiling, but mtl is not that team. Not too mention Beck is highly regarded and thats too much to give to a 50 point winger which is not a position we have a need in right now.

By the time Montreal is in a position to maybe want a Boeser, he'll be a rental or free agent. He's not currently wanted/needed and if he were it would include Armia to offset the cap and definitely not a Beck or a 1st.

habs easily say no

Boeser doesn't fit our timeline at all, beck is looking like an absolute steal for a recently drafted 2nd rounder, not trading him for someone who doesn't fill a need (looks up how many right shot wingers the habs have)
